Biography
E. Ada Cavalcanti-Adam has completed her PhD in Biology from University of Heidelberg (Germany) and postdoctoral training at the Max Planck Institute for Metals Research in Stuttgart. She is research group leader at the University of Heidelberg Institute of Physical Chemistry and head of the Central Scientific Facility “Biomaterials and Molecular Biology†at the Max Planck of Intelligent Systems. She is also visiting Professor at the University of Pennsylvania. In recognition of her work she has received a number of awards, most notably the UNESCO-L’Orèal Prize “for women in scienceâ€.
